MS-DOS (acronym - Microsoft Disk Operating System) was an operating system from Microsoft, now no longer in production. Its dedicated to the personal computer with a microprocessor x86. MS-DOS Marketed from 1982 to 2000, it was the first in a long series of Microsoft operating systems that in the 1980s accounted for over 90% of the global operating system market and, until the advent of Windows 95 in 1995, was the operating system for the most widespread computer in the world.
