This page lists the best selling books in the world, both single volumes and literary series, of all time and in any language. Bestselling refers to the estimated number of copies sold for each book, rather than the number of books currently printed or owned. Comic books and textbooks are not included in the list. Books are listed according to the highest sales estimate as reported in reliable and independent sources.

Religious books, especially the Quran and the Gospel, are probably the most widely published books, but it's almost impossible to find reliable figures for their sales. Many of the many published books have been lost or published by independent or inauthentic publishers, and many copies of the Qur'an and the published Bible have been given free of charge to the public instead of sales. Similarly, many political books, including Mao Zedong and Adolf Hitler. That's why we can not guess what the number of such books was and how much they were selling.
