The Mahabharata is the name of a TV serial produced by B.R. Chopra and directed by his son Ravi Chopra. It was a serial based on Indian mythology called Mahabharata and was one of the world's most watched serials. 94 episodes premiered of this series from 1988 to 1990 on the national television channel. Each serial was 45 minutes. It airs on another successful mythological serial Ramayana was after the 1987- 1988 was broadcast. The broadcast of this serial in the UK was done by the BBC where its audience crossed the figure of 50 million, which was a big thing for any serial that was broadcast in the afternoon.
